[ARCHIVED] AQUA Water Main Replacement Work in Echo Valley

Construction Work

Please see the attached Letter to Customers from AQUA Pennsylvania regarding their water main replacement project in Echo Valley.

Key information from this letter includes:

Aqua Pennsylvania will replace the existing 8-inch cast iron water main in Newtown Township, Delaware County as part of our continuing infrastructure improvement program. The new 8-inch ductile iron water main will reduce the potential for main breaks and discolored water, and improve water flow in the area. Aqua replaced more than 49 miles of aging main in Delaware County to improve service reliability for customers in 2018. Our work will be performed on the following streets:

  • · Battles Lane between Echo Valley and Meadow lanes
  • · Meadow Lane between Echo Valley and Battles lanes
  • · Echo Valley Lane between Meadow Lane and a point in front of 345 Echo Valley Lane

Construction on the $1,083,000 project is scheduled to begin the week of August 12, 2019 with completion expected in November. Aqua will have an inspector on the job each day to answer your questions.  Daily construction typically takes place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Access will be provided for emergency, mail and trash services. Residents will have access to their properties, but at times will need to enter from different directions due to changing work zones.

Please be aware of this work, and plan your travels in the area accordingly.  Always be safe while travelling through a work zone.
