[ARCHIVED] 2019 July 2nd Storm Cleanup Assistance

Twp of Newtown Logo_Green

Due to the severe storm on the night of July 2, 2019, many trees and branches fell and the resulting wood debris cleanup may present a difficulty for homeowners.  Newtown Township is offering assistance with storm cleanup, with Public Works crews providing a pick-up of branches and tree limbs throughout the Township for any resident who requests it.

As we are presently involved with cleanup efforts and road re-openings as well, instructions for preparing your storm-related tree limbs and branches will be posted here on Monday, July 8th.  The instructions will include a form for you to fill in and send to us, enabling us to schedule your pickup.

Public Works will pick up branches and tree limbs as large as 10” in diameter. They will need to be cut into lengths no longer than 6’ and then be stacked neatly at the curb with cut ends facing the street. Leaves, grass clippings, brush and branches with a diameter larger than 10” will not be accepted.

Public Works will handle the proper disposal of these limbs and branches.  There is no cost to residents for this pick up.  However, this service will be for residents only, and is not available to landscaping companies or to business properties.

Again, we will post full instructions and the form to be submitted on Monday, July 8th.  We will then begin the pickups shortly afterwards.
