[ARCHIVED] Newtown Township 2023 Road Program Update

Rockwood Road Paving

The 2023 Newtown Township Road Program is progressing well.

Following the completion if milling and detail work, final paving was able to begin on Thursday, October 19th.

The following is the anticipated schedule for the rest of the work.  Understand that it is weather permitting and also could be delayed based on unanticipated circumstances. However, if all goes as planned then the following schedule will be followed:

  • Thursday, October 19th - Radnor Drive (cul-de-sac to Surrey) and Hilltop Road (Rodney to Radnor).  This was completed.
  • Friday, October 20th - Radnor Drive (Surrey to West Chester Pike) and Hilltop Road (Radnor to Barren).  This was completed.
  • Monday, October 23rd - Rockwood Road  This in the process of being completed
  • Tuesday, October 24th - Woodhill Road, Devon Drive and Springhouse Lane
  • Wednesday, October 25th - Dutton Drive, Barren Road
  • Thursday, October 26th - Wedgewood Circle and Malin Road (portion cared for by Newtown Township)
  • Friday, October 27th - Frog Hollow Lane, Sleepy Hollow Lane and Sleepy Hollow Drive
  • Monday, October 30th - Completion of Sleepy Hollow Lane and Sleepy Hollow Drive
  • Tuesday, October 31st - Rhoads Avenue

Again we remind residents that the paving schedule can be fluid and is dependent on several factors including weather.

As residents in these areas are aware, some of these roads have been challenging as numerous cars are parked on those streets during the day.   The above schedule should help in letting you know when your vehicle must be off the street. Residents and their visitors are asked to follow the instructions of the paving contractor while they finish their work.

Please be extremely careful while traveling through any road work area for your safety and for the safety of those performing the work.

All updates for the road program work are posted on the 2023 Newtown Township Road Program web page dedicated to that project.

We thank our residents and their visitors for their patience while this repaving work is completed.
