[ARCHIVED] PennDOT Performing Evening Crack Sealing Work on Several State Roads

PennDOT Symbol

PennDOT has notified Newtown Township that beginning on Monday night (9/26/2022), Road-Con, Inc. will be performing asphalt crack sealing on several State Roads that run through Newtown Township.  Their work will take place from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am Monday night thru Thursday night with Friday Night possible as a makeup day.

Their traffic pattern will be mobile with two flaggers so that no lane / road closures are anticipated.

Work will be performed on the following state roads:

  • Church Road (Limits are Radnor Township limits to the Chester County line)
  • Newtown Street Road (Limits are St. Davids Road to the Chester County line)
  • Goshen Road (west of Newtown Street Road to the Chester County Line)
  • Bishop Hollow Road (Limits are Tanglewood Lane to Hempstead Road)

Please be aware of this work, follow directions of the workers / flaggers and be extremely careful when travelling through a work zone.

Note that PennDOT had previously announced intentions to repave Bryn Mawr Avenue, St Davids Road and Goshen Road (east of Newtown Street Road).  PennDOT also intends to replace two stormwater pipes that cross beneath Bryn Mawr Avenue.  We will create a news post once we have received confirmation from PennDOT of a start date of this pipe and resurfacing work.
