[ARCHIVED] Leaf Collection Completed for 2021

As of December 21, 2021, Public Works has completed the collection of leaves in Newtown Township for the season.

No further leaf collections will take place this year.  During the past 9 weeks, each home within Newtown Township that leaves are collected from was visited at least two times - once before and once after Thanksgiving.  The published schedule was able to be followed thanks to the vast majority of our residents who prepared their leaves on time and according to the information which was published.  The staff of Public Works are grateful to you for this.

This season, over 325 truck-loads of leaves were collected, representing approximately 8,000 yards of leaves (weighing over 2,000 TONS).

Per the published information, bagged leaves will still be accepted for drop-off at the Public Works yard until 3:00pm on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

The leaf collection equipment is being prepared for winter by being serviced, cleaned and placed into storage until next year.

Please visit the Public Works "Leaf Collection" page of the Newtown Township website to view the final collection report, showing each street and when it was collected from.  This report was updated each evening throughout the season so that our residents could see where we had been that day.

Public Works again thanks our residents for their participation in this project.
