Newtown Township Offers Spring Cleanup Assistance

The Public Works wood chipper

Each year, Newtown Township offers a Spring Cleanup Collection during the month of May. During this month-long event, Public Works crews will be providing a pick-up of branches and tree limbs throughout the Township for any resident who requests it.  Also offered is an opportunity to drop off your own branches and tree limbs between April and September.

Curb-Side Collection of Branches and Tree Limbs (May of 2021)

During the month of May, Public Works will collect branches and tree limbs curbside - they can be as large as 10” in diameter.  They must be cut into lengths no longer than 6’ and stacked neatly at the curb with cut ends facing the street.  Leaves, grass clippings, brush and branches with a diameter larger than 10” will not be accepted.

Public Works will handle the proper disposal of these limbs and branches. There is no cost to residents for this pick up. However, this service is for residents only, and is not available to landscaping companies or to business properties.  It is also intended as a "Spring Cleanup" and is not intended to handle debris following a tree removal - the tree removal company should be facilitating all debris removal for you.

To schedule a tree limb and branch pick up from your residence during the month of May, please fill in and submit this form: 2021 Spring Cleanup Request Form

We will collect the pile on the date requested, weather permitting.  Should we be delayed, we will pick the pile up as soon as possible afterwards.

Drop-Off Opportunity Also Available to Residents (April thru September of 2021)

Residents may also drop off branches and tree limbs at the Newtown Township Public Works yard beginning in April and running thru the end of September.  Branches and tree limbs can be as large as 10” in diameter.  The drop off times are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM.  Go to the Public Works building and yard behind the Municipal Building / Police Station / Library and look for the yard waste drop-off area within the yard.  Public Works will handle the proper disposal of these limbs and branches.   This service is for residents only, and is not available to landscaping companies or to business properties.  Proof of residency may be required at time of drop-off.
