[ARCHIVED] PennDOT Performing Milling and Paving Work on Bishop Hollow Road

PennDOT Symbol

PennDOT is presently performing milling and paving work on Bishop Hollow Road between West Chester Pike (in Newtown Township) and Ridley Creek Road (in Upper Providence Township).

The work was scheduled to begin on Sunday, November 8, 2020 and continue through Friday, November 13, 2020.  However, PennDOT has begun early and is working on Bishop Hollow Road today (Friday, November 6th).

PennDOT noted the following in their news release of Thursday afternoon:

Sunday, November 8, through Friday, November 13, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled on Bishop Hollow Road between Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and Ridley Creek   Road in Newtown and Upper Providence townships for milling and paving operations.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur.

All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under these improvement projects, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.

Work on these projects will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signage and relevant training.

Please be extremely careful while travelling through a work zone.  Follow the directions of the PennDOT workers and flaggers there to assist you.  Know that temporary road closures may need to take place during the course of their work.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.
