The Newtown Township Road Program is an extensive one this year, encompassing all of the Township Roads that are part of the sanitary sewer expansion project (well over 8 miles of roadway). In addition, Newtown Township’s portions of Gradyville Road and White Horse Road, as well as Ellis Avenue (south of Bishop Hollow Road) and Troop Farm Road (between Guinevere and Route 252) are being done. The refurbishment or replacement of almost 70 stormwater inlets and the installation of almost 2 miles of bicycle lanes are also part of the project.
Please visit the webpage dedicated to this project by following this link. You can also find the page under "Government" and then select the "Municipal Projects Update" tab. An anticipated schedule for the whole project is presently available on this project page, and weekly updates will be posted as well when the project gets underway.
Road resurfacing work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 with the resurfacing of Boot Road and Philips Lane. Inlet repair and replacement work will begin on Tuesday in Echo Valley. Throughout the project, construction will typically take place weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Access will be provided for emergency, mail and trash services. Residents will have access to their properties, but at times may need to enter from different directions due to changing work zones.
Please be aware of this work, and plan your travels in the areas accordingly. Be extra careful when in a work zone to protect yourself and those who are performing this road and inlet work.
