Additional Newtown Township special events have been postponed
or cancelled due to restrictions caused by the COVID-19 emergency:
Remember that the Public
Works "Spring Cleanup" drop-off of branches will not begin until after the present "stay at home" directives have been lifted. Although scheduled to begin on April 1st, access to the Public Works yard is not presently permitted, so the drop-off cannot take place yet. Once a new start-date has been verified we will post that on the Township website. In the meantime, please do not dump materials anywhere else - keep them at your property until we are ready to take them. The month-long "Curbside Branch
Pickup" is not yet postponed, but will depend on the status of the COVID-19 directives in place by the end of April. Public Works will communicate directly with any resident who has requested a May curbside pickup as we learn more. See the Public Works Yard Waste Disposal page of the website for further information.
At this time, the five events listed above have been postponed
or cancelled (Pop Up Garden and Rain Garden installations, Household Hazardous
Waste Collection Event, Concert in the Park / Disc Golf and branch collections)
- decisions regarding other events will be forthcoming and then posted on this
website, as will any possible rescheduling.
(Previous Post from March 30, 2020):
Certain Newtown Township special events have been postponed due to restrictions caused by the COVID-19 emergency. At this time, four such events are as follows:
The above events and many more were all identified in the latest issue of the Township Newsletter (found within the pages of IN Community Magazine) which is just being delivered to mailboxes this week. The issue was put together and sent to print before all of the present COVID-19 emergency directives were in place. There was just time to insert a banner identifying that "all upcoming Newtown Township meetings, events and projects are subject to change or cancellation due to the threat of the coronavirus (COVID-19)" and to quickly change the introductory paragraph to the newsletter. Even if some or all become postponed, it is still very good to read about all of the events and projects that our community is involved with, and the many wonderful people who are leading and participating in them.
At this time, the four events listed above have been postponed (stream cleanups, tree planting and branch collections) - decisions regarding other events will be forthcoming and then posted on this website, as will any possible rescheduling.
