Newtown Township General Code Township General Code

Overview

The local government of Newtown Township is charged with making decisions to benefit our residents. In this section are some of our local government Elected Officials, Boards and Committees to help clarify our mission, and the goal of each Township committee. We encourage you to attend your township Board Meetings and consider volunteering for membership on a board or committee.

The government of Newtown Township is comprised of a Board of Supervisors elected at large for overlapping six-year terms. The Board, which is comprised of five members, sets municipal policies under the powers of the Pennsylvania Second Class Township Code.

The Board of Supervisors holds regular meetings on the 2nd and 4th Monday nights of the month (except federal holidays). At these public meetings motions, ordinances and resolutions may be acted upon. Special meetings may also be called when necessary. Any resident wishing to discuss matters with the Board may do so at any meeting.
