The Planning Commission is comprised of a seven-member board serving overlapping four-year terms. They make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors for their decisions regarding the Ordinances and policies that govern the development of land within Newtown Township. They are responsible for reviewing and making recommendations related to proposed subdivision and land development plans, range planning, proposed zoning ordinances, subdivision, and commercial developments.
They are also directly responsible for review and development of the Township’s Comprehensive Plan (Comprehensive Plan, 2001 [PDF]). The Township has engaged Sarcinello Planning and Geographic Information System (GIS) to update the Township Comprehensive Plan, which was last updated in 2001. More information on the Comprehensive Plan is available on the Comprehensive Plan page.
For more information, visit the Planning Commission section from the Newtown Township General Code.
