Building, Planning & Code Enforcement
In 2011 the code enforcement department was re-designated to the Department of Building, Planning and Code Enforcement. The Township directly responsible for the enforcement of the PA Uniform Construction Code , which adopts the International Codes by the International Code Council, and the 2009 International Property Maintenance Code. The departmental staff also enforces the provisions of Article 172 Zoning.

Emergency Management
The Emergency Management Coordinator, appointed each year by the Board of Supervisors, works to coordinate all essential services and responses of the Township during a declared emergency situation.

Emergency Medical Services / Ambulance
Newtown Township has contracted with Riddle Health Care Services/Riddle EMS to provide Advanced Life Support Ambulance Service to the residents and businesses of Newtown Township with highly trained Paramedics and EMTs to staff the ambulances.

Fire Department
The long and proud tradition of volunteer fire service in Newtown Square began in 1916. From then until now citizens of Newtown Township have responded when the call for help was sounded.

Finance
The General Administration of the township is supported by the Fiscal Administration Department, who provide day-to-day administration of the Township’s financial resources by analyzing and projecting township financial conditions as programmed in the annual township general fund and operating budgets.

Police Department
The Newtown Township Police Department exists to serve and protect its citizens. The Department is committed to working in partnership with its citizens for the mutual purpose of promoting safe streets and neighborhoods, creating a community free from crime, and improving the overall quality of life.

Public Works
The Public Works Department is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of Newtown Township’s 50.65 miles of roads, plus storm and sanitary sewers, parks, trails, buildings and other infrastructure.
